Speaking of Resolutions…
As I was writing Wednesday’s post, my daughter came downstairs proudly displaying her newest piece of creativity.
It was none other than a list of her new Top 10 Rules. (Read:Resolutions list. You can’t make this stuff up!)

At that very moment I was writing about how often these lists are unattainable and idealistic. Hers is a classic example – as I know she will not make her bed everyday of 2010!
Nonetheless she was so proud so I asked if I could take her picture for the blog. She happily agreed, and then I asked her where she came up with this idea. Just on my own she said. I asked if it was a “resolutions” list and she glowed as she responded, “Yes it is!” I questioned how she knew about resolutions anyway? And she said she just heard about it somewhere as she danced off to her room to hang up her new list of resolutions.
I didn’t want to dampen her excitement with a comment about how most resolutions don’t last, and perhaps she should focus on her gifts and talents. So I opted to keep my mouth closed.
And that’s a major accomplishment in itself. But I’ll let you know if she keeps being very nice and making her bed everyday!
